Ronald J. Cohen, P.A. is composed of three experienced lawyers and concentrates its practice in the areas of labor and employment litigation, employee benefits, commercial litigation, appellate practice in both State and Federal courts, and arbitration.  The Firm handles all types of labor and employment cases, including unfair labor practices, arbitrations, wage and hour cases, discrimination cases, and commercial litigation in both State and Federal Courts, at both the trial and appellate level.  We merge our in-depth expertise in labor law and employee benefits law with proven courtroom skills, experience, and knowledge  in commercial litigation.

Our Firm has long been known for its work on behalf of public safety officers.  We regularly represent police officers who are sued in civil rights cases, defending such allegations as excessive use of force and arrests without probable cause.  The Firm is often retained by municipalities to provide defense for police officers.

Ronald J. Cohen, P.A. also has an extensive practice in public pension law and represents numerous public pension funds. The breadth of our services includes counseling on fiduciary matters, administrative rule-making, ordinance drafting, and benefits-related litigation.  We are experienced in handling day-to-day advice as well as navigating complex benefits-related litigation.

He has served for many years as general counsel to the Florida Public Pension Trustees Association, a not-for-profit entity whose mission is education of public pension trustees.  Mr. Cohen regularly serves as an instructor at Florida Public Pension Trustees Association schools and conferences and also has lectured extensively on public employment and pension issues for such organizations as the Institute of International Research and the Florida Government Finance Officers Association.
